In an interview with John Hanke at the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin-Mitte, where the CEO talked about how the game will go in 2017. The most critical next step: The Arena battles are being completely reworked; he mentioned how he wasn’t happy with the way they are currently designed. In the interview with Wired Germany, the company’s CEO, John Hanke, answered a question about when we’ll see legendary Pokemon by teasing, “I can safely say we’ll see more of it this year.”
Now he didn’t release when they are released this year, which John Hanke loves to keep trainers in suspense for major updates while also announcing that 3 Major updates will be coming this year alongside the legendary Pokemon.
There have already been game code found in the source code for each Legendary Pokemon from the first generation, which includes Mew and Mewtwo. Last year Articuno was found in several trainers Pokedex, which ended up being revoked by Niantic due to it being an in-game glitch. When asked about this glitch, John Hanke replied, “We recently noticed that a few Legendary Pokemon got into a few accounts when they shouldn’t have. To preserve the game’s integrity and as a measure of fairness, we have rectified the situation and revoked the legendary Pokemon from the Trainers’ accounts.”
He also mentioned how his focus in the first few months of focus was dedicated to putting out the fires from the unfinished game to give them more time to work on future features. When asked about the rework of the arenas, he said, “There is very limited gameplay in the arenas. They simply do not work as well as we wish they would. “We will rework this aspect of the game so that there will be more teamwork, and people will get more incentive and reward for participating.”
That’s all, for now, have a wonderful day!
